After a nearly 2-year battle with cancer, Ken Hawley, the Chairman of RGF Integrated Wealth Management (formerly Rogers Group Financial) a 40-year veteran of the financial advisory business, passed away on Monday, May 17th, at the age of 64.

Ken leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Doreen; his children, Leah McAdie (Bruce), Kara Hawley, Mike Hawley (Alyse); granddaughter, Emma-Rose McAdie; and mother, Kathleen Hawley. Ken’s father, Russ, passed away in 1982.

Ken was born in Vancouver and raised in Kelowna. He graduated from UBC (B. Comm) in 1968 and joined Rogers Group Financial in 1988, where he became a major shareholder and excelled at serving his many clients up until only a few weeks before his death. In addition, Ken extended his leadership and business acumen to many financial boards, committees and non-profit organizations.

Though he was very ill and continually adjusting to new medicines and treatment protocols, Ken always seemed to appreciate inquiries from family, friends, neighbours, clients and colleagues. He would listen to each one, acknowledge his thankfulness for their concerns and prayers, and go on – in his gentle way – to explain his complete confidence, and the resulting comfort he felt, in moving on to his new life in eternity. His positive attitude and deep belief that he could rise above each challenge enabled him to make a difficult situation manageable, allowing the experience to serve his clients, friends and family.

Ken was a delightful individual – dedicated to his faith, his family and his clients.

He was a consummate gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Ken.
