Market Commentary – Q1 2024

There is always uncertainty in the market but never more than during an election year.  Given the US economy is the largest in the world, virtually all major global companies trade on their stock markets.

Here is a very interesting illustration that has tracked the S&P500’s performance in US presidential election years, from 1928 to 2016!  While by no means is it a guarantee, it’s interesting to see the trend over a very long time period, and thereby, in investor sentiment during US presidential election years.

Retirement:

I’ve been asked by an increasing number of clients recently if I’m retiring soon.  I have a feeling my age is starting to show!  Rest assured, I have no plans to retire any time soon.  I hope to be here for many years to come.  In fact, at this stage of my career, I’m still hoping to add new clients to my practice.  My typical client is at or near retirement with investment assets of $750,000 and above.  If you know of someone who may be a good fit, please feel free to pass along my contact information!
